PRAZIQUANTEL (Biltricide®) is an
anthelmintic. Anthelmintics are used for treating worm
infections. Praziquantel is used mainly to treat fluke
and tapeworm infections. The fluke infections are also

Drug Class: What is Ergamisol and why is Ergamisol
prescribed?
Ergamisol (Levamisole) is used in the treatment of
Roundworm and Hookworm infestations.
Ergamisol is also a cancer (antineoplastic) medication.
Ergamisol is used in the treatment of colon cancer.
Ergamisol interferes with the growth of cancer cells and
slows their growth and spread in the body.
Ergamisol may also be used for purposes other than those
listed in this medication guide.
Drug Mechanism: How does Ergamisol work?
Ergamisol is a synthetic imidazothiazole derivative that
has been widely used in treatment of worm infestations in
both humans and animals. Ergamisol mechanism of action as
adjuvant therapy in cancer has not been determined.
Ergamisol has complex effects on the immune system and
may work in colon cancer as an immune-regulating agent.
However, it has many other pharmacologic actions that may
contribute to its effectiveness, or it may function as a
modulating agent to increase the action of fluorouracil.
Dosage: How should you take Ergamisol ?
Take each dose of Ergamisol by mouth with a full glass of
water.
Ergamisole should be administered at a dose of 2.5 mg/kg
given as a single daily dose, preferably at night, on 2

additional therapeutic benefit.

If you miss a dose of Ergamisol, use it as soon as you
can. If it is almost time for your next dose, use only
